BIM (Buiding Information Modeling) is a methodology of integral work for the development of construction projects.
Through a virtual model (3D digital model) all the data and agents involved in the design of a building are centralized and registered. From its initial project, during its construction, during its useful life, maintenance management or extensions-modifications and until its final demolition.
BIM: optimize the construction processes
Manage the construction with a virtual model in which all the information of the work is collected, allows the different agents, engineers, builders, promoters, financiers, facilities managers, etc., to be in contact with the project.
Against the “classical” methodology, with a very linear process in the conception, until one phase does not end, the next one does not start and a complex interrelation between agents, it involves repeated advance-regression due to incompatibility in the adopted solutions, discrepancies, … besides the distressing interactions at work between different industrialists, forcing modifications and adaptations with great loss of resources and time in execution.
Faced with this “classical” methodology, the BIM methodology aims to avoid unnecessary waste of time and effort, involving the different agents, from the project phase, during its generation. It also allows to reduce time on site, avoid conflicts and interference between different disciplines and industrial and adjust costs of execution and maintenance.
